Borges International Group obtains a 14MM€ net profit and its sales rose by 9 %

Borges International Group has increased its net profits with regard to the past financial year. This way, at this year’s closing, Borges International Group obtains a 14 million euros net profit. The results before income taxes are also more satisfactory, with an increase of 10 % up to 19 million euros.

Sales have reached 675 million euros, 9 % more with regard to the previous year. An increase that Borges attributes to its commitment with raw materials and quality products, reflected in its own different brands, as well as a unique and controlled production process.

One of the projects of great importance during this financial year has been the promotion of pistachio nut culture with irrigation in the SEGARRA-GARRIGUES canal area. It was designed to revitalize the area and contribute to the progress and stability of the agrarian incomes. For this project, Borges has planted 15.5 ha. of more than 50 hectares that the plan is to develop and has impelled a plan of vertical cooperation with the producers and farmers interested in this culture with mechanisms of  information, formation, advice and resources, in addition to the group’s commitment to purchase the products.

The commitment with the innovation (by investing 20 % of the net profits in I+D+i), its own and controlled processes of production or the internationalization are some of the keys to the success of the company. Borges International Group has exported a very important percentage of its products to international markets, reaching 111 countries around the world.

 

Good Health in HR and CSR

The company employed 1.058 workers at the closing of the year, which is 3 % more than in the previous year.

During this financial year 2014-2015, Borges International Group has been rewarded with the Award Food of Spain for Food Internationalization that is granted by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), which acknowledges its enterprising spirit, the professionalism, the emulation of overcoming and the perseverance in becoming a model of international commercialization.

Borges International Group also consolidates its commitment with equality policies in the company by becoming a member of the network “Companies for a society free of gender related violence” of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, as well as with the respect for the environment with the obtention of the AENOR ecolabel for its carbon footprint impact for nuts.
