Borges International Group staff donate over 21 liters of blood

42 staff from Borges International Group have attended today the blood donation solidarity campaign Dóna’n a mica!

The “Borges Red Day” is an action geared towards social responsibility that was proposed by our own staff.

For another year running, the ninth consecutive, the staff of Borges International Group have collaborated altruistically in the blood donation solidarity campaign Dóna’n a mica! (Catalan: Give some!). In total, 42 staff from the Reus branch visited the mobile unit from the Banc de Sang i Teixits de Catalunya (Catalan: Blood and Tissue Bank of Catalonia) located on the company premises. On this occasion 21 litres of blood were collected.

The Red Day has been held since 2009 at the headquarters of Borges International Group in Reus (Tarragona), and for eight years in Tàrrega (Lleida). This campaign is an action geared towards social responsibility that was proposed by our own staff at the suggestions mailbox available within the framework of the internal communication policies of the company.

This solidarity day has been a success in terms of participation since its inception. Thanks to the commitment demonstrated by the workers of Borges International Group, it has already established itself as an annual and unmissable event.

In Catalonia, 1,000 donations are needed per day.

The Blood and Tissue Bank of Catalonia needs 1,000 donations every day, one for every three seconds. For this reason the Borges Group has been keen to contribute, with the aim of guaranteeing supplies to the hospitals and clinics of Catalonia. In parallel to this, Borges International Group continues to collaborate actively with the Blood and Tissue Bank by licensing Borges products that the entity offers to donors after blood extraction during the various campaigns that take place throughout the year in our cities.
