Borges Agricultural & Industrial Edible Oils is already a "Zero Waste" company

  • The control and monitoring of the residues of Borges Agricultural & Industrial Edible Oils (BAIEO) have been satisfactorily evaluated.
  • BAIEO obtains the Bureau Veritas Zero Waste certificate with the highest level of commitment, preventing more than 95% of waste from going to landfill.

Borges Agricultural & Industrial Edible Oils (BAIEO) has obtained the Zero Waste Management certificate  for its industrial facilities located in Tàrrega. The certificate received, which is governed by Bureau Veritas standards, confirms that the waste generated in the plant is treated through responsible means such as recovery, recycling or subsequent recovery.

Achieving this certification and thanks to the  evaluation of the control and monitoring of waste from the Tàrrega plant, BAIEO has been recognized as a company committed to:

  • minimization of the environmental impact that fights climate changeor
  • improving sustainable consumption by promoting reuse, recycling and,
  • the use of waste, as a company that avoids sending waste to landfills.

In addition, the company is committed to also extending this certificate in other production centers.

Obtaining the Zero Waste Management certificate is an important milestone within its sustainability strategy that is framed under the concept  of “Committed by Nature”, which involves prioritizing the use of recyclable materials in the manufacture of its packaging, reducing the consumption of plastics through lighter packaging and using recycled material.  to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. All this to promote a healthy and healthy diet based on a model of responsible agriculture.
